An alternate for the 42167 Mack Electric Garbage Truck. This alternate is a tribute to the legendary 42078 “Mack Anthem”, which featured a garbage truck as B-model. This model takes the opposite approach and aims at reproducing features of the Mac Anthem. At this scale, though, some compromise had to be made. The shape of the truck is well transcribed. It has opening doors, and the right one even features the small side window as in the original one. The hood can also be opened, although not in the same way as the original truck or the 42078 model.
The nicest feature of the model is a transmission (from the back train) to a L2 fake engine, as well as a steering by HOG. While the turn radius is quite large (this is a road locomotive after all), the mechanism is rather complex for a model of this size (which is also per se a tribute to the 42078).
The model uses a very large proportion of the original parts. Leftover parts can be used to build a container:
